I've lived an interesting life and had a variety of careers including fashion and training before becoming a therapist in 1995. I believe absolutely in people's ability to make powerful changes, regardless of how long they've been doing something or how rubbish a start in life they've had. What makes my work so amazing is that I can watch my clients grow in confidence and assertiveness and hear them express themselves positively after years of putting themselves down or hiding their talents. Helping them to move on from self-destructive habits or toxic relationships is so rewarding. I am humbled by my client's courage to work with me towards a brighter, happier future. I'd love to work with you to help you to achieve your goals.
It's essential that you trust and feel comfortable with your therapist, so please take up my offer of a free consultation. After we’ve had a chat on the phone we’ll both know if we are a ‘good fit’. You’ll also want to assure yourself that I am suitably qualified and experienced. Sadly, hypnotherapy is an unregulated profession and the vast range of letters after someone’s name can be bewildering. I am trained to National Occupational Standards and am a member of several Professional Associations; I also have full insurance to work with clients and teach hypnotherapy. You can see my posts and roles below.
My approach to therapy
Each client I see is different in personality, values, and beliefs, so I don't have a 'one-size fits all' approach to therapy. My primary therapy is hypnotherapy, but I am trained in a number of different therapy styles and psychotherapeutic including NLP and CBT, so I can use an integrated approach. When clients contact me they want help to make a change and the more options I have, the better I can tailor my approach to suit their needs.
What will happen when you come to see me
At your first session, we'll have a chat about the reason you've come to see me, the changes you seek and your expectations of therapy. Then, when the information-gathering part of the session is complete and you're ready, we'll begin the hypnosis. After the session, you'll probably feel relaxed, yet alert, and ready to continue with your day.
