I understand that privacy is an incredibly important concern for both our clients and visitors to our web site due to the personal nature of our business. Whether you are a client of mine, or just visiting my web site, I would like to take the opportunity to explain exactly in detail how I take every step possible to ensure I protect your privacy and the steps I take to safeguard any information.

1.0 Cookie policy

This site uses Google Analytics to track website usage. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages.

Although Google Analytics records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this. We consider Google to be a third party data processor.

GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides.

Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.

2.0 Hypnotherapy blog

Should you choose to add a comment to any posts that I have published on my blog the name and email address you enter with your comment will be saved to this website’s database, along with your computer’s IP address and the time and date that you submitted the comment. This information is only used to identify you as a contributor to the comment section of the respective blog post and is not passed on to any of the third party data processors. Only the name you provide will be shown on the public-facing website.

2.1 Your comment and its associated personal data will remain on this site until we see fit to either 1.) remove the comment or 2.) remove the blog post. Should you wish to have the comment and its associated personal data deleted, please email me using the email address that you commented with.

2.2 If you are under 16 years of age you MUST obtain parental consent before posting a comment on our blog.

NOTE: You should avoid entering personally identifiable information to the actual comment field of any blog post comments that you submit on this website.

3.0 Contact forms, email links and phone messages

3.1 Should you choose to contact me using the contact form on my Contact Me page or by clicking a link to email me directly none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website or passed to / be processed by any of the third party data processors.

I would suggest that you always consider email as an insecure medium and not include personal, confidential or otherwise sensitive information within an email.

3.2 Phone messages are processed by Best Reception. Your enquiry, name, email address and phone number are logged and then sent to me via email.

3.3 Email is stored on my encrypted, password protected computer as well as the email server.

3.4 Text messages are stored on a password protected phone. I will never save your details into my phone contacts list to protect your privacy.

3.5 If you book a free consultation with me through my website your details will be processed by Calendly and synched to my Google calendar.

We would suggest that you always consider email and text messages as insecure media and not include personal, confidential or otherwise sensitive information within them.

4.0 Email newsletter

If you become a client of Lorraine McReight Hypnotherapy your email address will be forwarded to MailChimp who provide us with email marketing services. MailChimp is a third party data processor. The email address that you submit will not be stored within this website’s own database.

4.1 Your email address will remain within MailChimp’s database for as long as we continue to use MailChimp’s services for email marketing or until you specifically request removal from the list. You can do this by unsubscribing using the unsubscribe links contained in any email newsletters that we send you or by requesting removal via email. When requesting removal via email, please send your email to us using the email address that is subscribed to the mailing list.

While your email address remains within the MailChimp database, you will receive periodic (approximately one per month) newsletter-style emails from us.

5.0 Our Third Party Data Processors

We use a number of third parties to process personal data on our behalf. These third parties have been carefully chosen and all of them comply with the legislation mentioned above.The companies that are based in the US are EU-U.S Privacy Shield compliant.
